It was a struggle getting started in real estate... I had NO background in business or construction work...
In fact, I was a breakdancer traveling the world with my wife and working in full time ministry in over 50 countries.
What's worse is that I didn't have any of the right connections or the right family upbringing.
I heard how others were using real estate to become wealthy, but I so frustrated because I had no money to invest...
Finally, I committed to the process, and I was going to make it work no matter what the cost would be.
My wife and I went through the school of hard knocks to figure it out, and there were times that we were barely scraping by...
However, things really started to happen once we got the right mentors in our lives... We actually started making money on our investments and things really turned around.

We bought our first big project house for $25k with the seller allowing us to make payments. $3k down and $92 a month payments. We had no money for the renovations so we applied for credit cards to be able to buy everything on credit. This house needed more than $70k in rehab. AFTER
After the stress and the headaches of this house and dealing with the city permits and regulations, we finished it and decided to make it a rental property. We kept it as a rental for 3 years and rented it for $1,000 a month which gave us about $250/mo profit. We finally took advantage of the market and sold it for $155k three years later.
